Week 4 - Assignment 1: Determine the Liability of Contracts and Legal Responsibilities

Now looking at these disadvantages and scenarios of the contract types, what do you envision as a legal implication or liability for either the buyer or seller? You will explore these factors by reading selected articles that illustrate buyer and seller contract management, risk, and liabilities within various contexts.

You will draft the “Contract Type and Liabilities” section of your Project Procurement Plan Template. This will be done in Week 4, Assignment 1. Be sure to use the Project Procurement Plan Template as a guide.

Think about legal implications and liabilities as you select a specific contract type for your procurement plan. Be sure to select one of the three, but specific the type from the listing if applicable (i.e., Type: Cost Reimbursable; Level: CPPC, CPIF, CPFF, or CPAF). You must align the contract type with the designated liability (ies) that may incur during this process. In order to draft this section, you must first know how to address many of these unforeseen issues upon planning. First, start by reviewing the Policy Procurement Drafting 101 as a guide. Be sure to keep of copy of this portion, as it will be used for a portion of the procurement planning document.
