After reviewing this week’s resources on classroom observation skills, assessing and planning, and implementing and evaluation skills, prepare a narrative PowerPoint presentation for the staff you will supervise advising them of how you plan to evaluate student learning and instructional effectiveness throughout the year. As you prepare your narrative presentation, remember to:
Explain what you would hope to see incorporated in the lessons during a formal observation and informal walk-through.
Explain how you define and assess teacher effectiveness.
Determine the types of assessments you plan to use in assessing student learning and teacher effectiveness.
Summarize how trends/patterns will be identified and used to assess teacher effectiveness.
Explain what makes a lesson effective or ineffective.
Include some strategies you may use to pinpoint areas of improvement.
Recommend some professional growth suggestions for improvement for teachers to move from good to great.
Add slide notes and narrations to each slide by using the Audio feature within the Insert tab.
Incorporate appropriate animations, transitions, and graphics as well as speaker notes for each slide. The speaker notes may be comprised of brief paragraphs or bulleted lists and should cite material appropriately. Add narrations to each slide by using the Audio feature within the Insert tab.
Length: 12-15 slides, not including title or reference slides
Notes Length: 100-150 words for each slide
References: Include a minimum of 3 scholarly resources
Be sure to include citations for quotations and paraphrases with references in APA format and style where appropriate. Save the file as PPT with the correct course code information. Upload your document, and then click the Submit to Dropbox button.
