Propose a professional development initiative for faculty members or a subgroup of faculty in the school, school district, or organization in which you work or recently worked.
Assume your initiative is going to require some funding and/or release time. Prepare a PowerPoint presentation to share with your school board or governing body in your school, school district, or organization. Your proposed presentation should illustrate your professional development initiative and persuade the decision-making body to approve and allocate the funding for this initiative. Include the following points in your presentation:
Begin with an overview of the proposed professional development initiative and explain why it is being proposed. How was this focus area determined?
Indicate any costs or release time required.
Explain how the proposed structure of the activity is supported by adult learning theory.
Referencing teachers’ developmental phases and the four approaches to SuperVision, explain how you would pre-assess individual needs in the area your initiative will address.
Discuss how you would structure the initiative to allow for individual developmental levels and situational leadership needs of the group (or subgroups if proposing this for a large group).
Recommend ways to use routine clinical supervision to support individual teachers’ work in the proposed initiative as a means of improving classroom instruction.
Include a proposed timeline for planning, preparing, and delivering the initiative.
Predict the impact of the proposal on the school or district curriculum.
Include your intended outcome(s) of the initiative and explain how you plan to assess them.
Incorporate appropriate animations, transitions, and graphics as well as speaker notes for each slide. The speaker notes may be comprised of brief paragraphs or bulleted lists and should cite material appropriately.
Length: 15-20 slides, not including title or reference slides
Notes Length: 150-200 words for each slide
References: Include a minimum of 5 scholarly resources
Be sure to include citations for quotations and paraphrases with references in APA format and style where appropriate. Save the file as PPT with the correct course code information. Upload your document, and then click the Submit to Dropbox button.
