Sometimes nurses do not realize that the solutions they employ to solve nursing problems are in fact “theory-based solutions.” While completing this week’s readings in the text and the article by Carnago and Mast (2015), consider how you may use multiple ways of knowing to analyze problems and make decisions in your nursing practice. Provide a nursing scenario as the basis for your response. What ways of knowing are you using in your scenario?
When responding to your peers, identify any other ways of knowing that may be present within the scenarios they describe. Do you think nurses commonly use multiple ways of knowing when providing patient care? What are the strengths and challenges associated with attempting to understand patient situations through multiple lenses?
Refer to the Discussion Rubric for directions on completing these discussions.
